Suruchi Bhadwal is Director, Earth Science and Climate Change at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and a highly accomplished researcher specializing in climate change. With over two decades of experience at TERI, she has led numerous impactful projects, focusing on assessing the impacts, vulnerability, and adaptation strategies related to climate change. Her work extends to collaborating closely with communities to address climate challenges.
Ms Bhadwal’s notable contributions include studying vulnerability in the Indian agricultural sector within the context of economic globalization, as well as her involvement in India’s national communications to the UNFCCC. She has been recognized as a UNDP regional expert on vulnerability and adaptation and has actively participated in international events such as the IPCC reports and COP events. With a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, she continues to be a prominent figure in climate change research and is currently a lead author for the upcoming IPCC AR6 WG II Report, focusing on key risks.
