Tony Bebbington is International Director of the Natural Resources and Climate Change program at the Ford Foundation, having previously served at Clark University as Director of the Graduate School of Geography and Milton P. and Alice C. Higgins Professor of Environment and Society (2010-2021). He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has been a Guggenheim Foundation fellow,  an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow, among others. Bebbington has held positions at the Universities of Manchester, Cambridge and Colorado, as well as at the World Bank, Overseas Development Institute and the International Institute for Environment and Development. He is an internationally recognized leader and scholar on extractive industries, natural resource governance, and rural development.
